Atherton

Estate Living Surrounded by the Best of the Peninsula

Enjoy the privacy of sprawling estates, verdant landscapes, and spectacular mansions in the town of Atherton. Once part of a Spanish rancho, Atherton was incorporated in 1923. One of its first rules was to assure that lots would not be subdivided into parcels smaller than one acre. With a few exceptions – primarily former San Mateo County streets acquired through annexation – that rule still holds true today.

Nestled between Menlo Park, Redwood City, and Woodside, Atherton residents enjoy close proximity to restaurants and shops nearby, yet still feel far removed from the hustle and bustle. Here, you will find people enjoying late morning walks with their dogs or runs with friends through the winding tree-lined streets.
